About us and the editorial team

Explaining what you can check for yourself.

inotoken is a magazine about cryptocurrencies. We sell no coins, no price signals and no courses. We explain how Bitcoin, blockchains, wallets, taxes and markets work, with figures you can look up, and with tools that show how they calculate.

Who is behind it

The publisher is NexTao GmbH in Düsseldorf, a media and technology company that runs several specialist and regional magazines. Responsible for editorial content is Managing Director Stefan Dzwonek. You can reach the editorial team at info@nextao.de. We are independent of trading venues, issuers and wallet makers, and we take no money for naming products. Paid content would be marked as advertising; at present there is none.

Five rules for every text

RuleWhat that means for you
The answer comes first. The first sentence of every article answers the question in the headline. If you read only that, you have what you came for.
Figures have sources.Every article names at least two external sources, official and primary ones before blogs: laws, supervisory authorities, central banks, the whitepaper, technical documentation.
No buy recommendation. We do not say whether you should buy, and we name no price targets. We show the mechanics, the risks and the rules.
Tools explain themselves.Under every calculator it says how it calculates, which assumptions it makes and where it stops.
Mistakes get corrected. If you find a mistake, write to us. We check it, correct it and note larger corrections in the article.

How an article comes about

Topics come from the questions people actually ask: the difference between two things, what something costs, how long something takes, whether something is compulsory. For research and drafting we also use software with artificial intelligence. A text is published only after the editorial team has checked the figures and sources, approved the structure and taken responsibility for it. That is why the articles carry no individual bylines but the editorial team instead, and why the legal notice says who is responsible.

Where prices and chain data come from

The price band, the market page and the calculators use prices in euro from a large European trading venue, which our server takes over roughly every ten minutes. Chain data such as block height, difficulty, hash rate and fees comes from a public Bitcoin node. Your browser speaks only to our server. All values are delayed and shown without warranty, and the price you pay at a trading venue differs because of spread and fees.

Images

The illustrative images on the article pages were created with the help of artificial intelligence and are marked as AI illustrations. They show no real people, products or places. Charts and result images of the tools are created from your own entries in your browser.

What we are not

We are not investment, tax or legal advisers, and we are not a supervisory authority. For decisions with financial weight, an authorised adviser belongs at your side, and in tax matters a tax adviser. Crypto-assets can lose their entire value. Anyone who cannot bear that should not buy them, and we write it just like that.
